New Year resolutions

A 2017 survey of American adults found that 41% of people usually make New Year’s resolutions, 42% never do and 17% make them infrequently.34 Just 9% of people felt that they were successful in achieving their resolution. The most common resolution was to lose weight/adopt healthier eating. One in five people (21%) had this as their New Year resolution. This was almost double the second-most common resolution – to make general life/self improvements (12%).

The rest of the top 10 resolutions were: three – better financial decisions; four – quit smoking; five – do more exciting things; six – spend more time with family/friends; seven – work out more often; eight – learn something new on my own; nine – do more good deeds for others; ten – find the love of my life.
